HP accepting submissions for 2009 print awards

The HP Digital Print Awards programme was founded in 2008 to recognise outstanding print achievements and innovations using HP Indigo presses in the print and packaging industries across Asia Pacific and Japan.

Recognising the need to provide platforms for printing and packaging industry professionals to showcase their work, HP has expanded this year’s contest to twelve categories, including:

  • Marketing Collaterals
  • Limited Editions and Art Reproductions
  • Books and Manuals Printing
  • Photo Books/ Coffee Table Books
  • Specialty Printing
  • Events and campaigns
  • Direct Mailers
  • Packaging Printing
  • Labels & Labels
  • Flexible Packaging
  • Pharmaceutical labels
  • Security Labels

VS Hariharan, vice president of Graphic Solutions Business, HP Imaging and Printing Group, Asia Pacific and Japan says, “Last year’s awards programme attracted more than 200 submissions from 12 countries in Asia Pacific. This year we expect even greater participation with the addition of four new categories.”

Hariharan continues, “Through the HP Digital Print Awards, we recognise the extraordinary efforts of the top HP Indigo printers and packagers in the region, and use the programme to share best practices to inspire others in the region.”

The Awards will be judged by a team of internationally qualified industry leaders from the graphics arts, packaging and media industries. Entries will be judged on degree of innovation and creativity, marketing appeal, best use of digital technology, paper selection, best use of ink and colour finishing and packaging, and, overall aesthetics.

Applications for the awards will close March 31 2009.
