HP adds chromatic red ink to DesignJet series

HP Australia demonstrated to clients its latest portfolio of high-impact graphics printers at a launch event, the two new DesignJet printers equipped with HP’s chromatic red ink.

The new additions to the DesignJet series were unveiled at brand launch event at Sydney’s Park Hyatt at The Rocks. The event included live presentations, product demonstrations and hands-on sessions hosted by a number of HP executives.

The DesignJet Z5600 and Z2600 PostScript printers are furnished with a six-ink printing system which, according to HP, reduces ink consumption by up to 20 per cent.

HP says the twin DesignJet printers are designed for copy shops, retailers and corporations, and the addition of chromatic red ink which ‘enhances colour gamut’ is ideal for high-impact point-of-purchase printing jobs.

Javier Larraz, director and general manager for DesignJet HP Asia Pacific says the DesignJet printers coupled with chromatic ink offer vivid colour for high-impact customers.

“Our customers want colours that are vibrant, not muted, however they also need solutions that increase the colour gamut without excess inks. With today’s new printers, the HP DesignJet portfolio covers all graphic needs, from high-impact graphics to quality applications,” says Larraz.

According to HP, the DesignJet Z5600 boosts media loading efficiency by up to 75 per cent, and users can print up to 39 per cent faster with the quick-drying HP inks.

HP also says no training is required to operate the Z2600 model, which is sized to fit comfortably into any work space.

The twin printers are slated for release at the end of this month, set to complement the three million existing HP DesignJet machines installed around the world.
