HP cuts a double swathe

The company says the new printer family also delivers outstanding colour and monochrome capabilities, as well as exceptional line, image quality and enhanced printer management control. The new solution is said to enable professionals from the architectural, engineering, construction; MCAD and GIS markets to meet deadlines faster, improve customer retention through high-quality printouts and gain complete control via excellent printer management.

Nobuo Kanzaki, HP Large Format Printing Asia Pacific & Japan product manager, says, “Architectural, engineering, construction and GIS companies have increasingly exacting requirements from their printing technology. To achieve high quality large format printouts, complex technical plans, maps and presentations, these professionals are demanding advanced levels of line accuracy, excellent image quality, speed and control. The new HP Designjet 4000 printer series, powered by Double Swath Technology, meets these needs and gives users the competitive edge.”

HP Double Swath Technology doubles the number of printhead nozzles by placing them in a staggered formation. This staggering allows the printer to extend the actual print path, resulting in a faster print output making the printer ideal for users with tight deadlines. The new printer delivers fast printouts in A1/D size in 25 seconds and can complete a print job of 100 A1/D size within one hour.

The printer provides a high resolution up to 2400×1200 optimized dpi and up to +/- 0.1 per cent line accuracy, making it an ideal solution for those who need precise designs, plans and line drawings.
