The company earned net revenue of US$25.4bn, representing growth of 16 per cent year over year, or 12 per cent when adjusted for the effects of currency, with an operating profit of US$2.1bn.
The Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) revenue grew 8 per cent year over year to US $6.8bn. On a year-over-year basis, supplies revenue grew 9 per cent, commercial hardware revenue grew 6 per cent and consumer hardware revenue grew 10 per cent.
Printer unit shipments increased 10 per cent year over year, with consumer printer hardware units up 8 poer cent and commercial printer hardware units up 17per cent. Momentum in key growth initiatives continued, with printer-based multi-function devices up 76 per cent. Operating profit was US$981m, or 14.5 per cent of revenue, up from US$884million, or 14.2 per cent of revenue, in the prior-year period.
The Asia Pacific was HP's best performing area, during the quarter, on a year-over-year basis, revenue in the Americas grew 14 per cent to $11.1bn, revenue in Europe, the Middle East and Africa grew 16 per cent to $9.7bn, and revenue in Asia Pacific grew 22 per cent to $4.6bn
