
Applications for the awards will close on March 31, with this year’s winners to be notified by April 15. The results will be officially announced at the Awards Dinner, which will be held in conjunction with the InfoTrends Digital Printing Seminar 2009 in Beijing on May 11.
The annual event was founded last year “to recognise outstanding print achievements and innovations using HP Indigo presses in the print and packaging industries across Asia Pacific and Japan.”
HP has expanded this year’s contest by adding four new categories to the mix, with the full list of categories below:

According to the company, “entries will be judged on degree of innovation and creativity, marketing appeal, best use of digital technology, paper selection, best use of ink and colour, finishing and packaging, and overall aesthetics.”
“Last year’s awards programme was an overwhelming success, attracting more than 200 submissions from 12 countries in Asia Pacific,” said VS Hariharan, vice-president of Graphic Solutions Business, HP Imaging and Printing Group, Asia Pacific and Japan. “This year we expect even greater participation with the addition of four new categories.”
