Andreas Johansson, director of Kayell says the new standard gives users of digital presses a reference point for consistent, predictable colour, in the same way that ISO 12647-2 Process Standard Offset certified printers enjoy.
He says, “The standard is of real benefit to both printers and their customers, reducing or eliminating any confusion over colour reproduction and creating a workable, internationally-recognised benchmark for digital colour output.”
The new certification of this standard, developed by Kayell to ISO specification, is known as ISO Digital Printer of Australia and New Zealand.
Johansson continues, “We know from experience with some of Australia’s largest printers that printing to Fogra PSO and ISO standards reaps dividends and minimises customer conflicts concerning colour.
“ISO 12647-8 is a standard designed specifically for digital printers. To be certified as an ‘ISO Digital Printer of Australia and New Zealand’ carries with it both technical and marketing messages that the complying printer has undertaken strenuous testing procedures to ensure digital print of the highest standard and consistency.”
