Brett Palmer, Konica Minolta Australia’s national product manager, told ProPrint that interest in the new machine was extremely high among Australian printers.

“The C8000 hits all the right points. Australians are coming to Ipex to look at it,” said Palmer.

The 80ppm C8000 is part of its springboard into the high-production digital colour market, joined by the 70ppm Bizhb PRESS C7000 and 60ppm Bizhub PRESS C6000.

The 1,200×1,200dpi machine offers duplex printing on stocks up to 300gsm, with 350gsm for single-sided work.

The shipping schedule for Australia is not yet finalised, though Palmer pointed to an October-November timeline.
