Konica Minolta tosses the boss for charity

Konica Minolta Australia senior managers will be tossed from a plane on April 2 to raise money for Project Futures, a charity which has joined the fight to end human trafficking globally. Konica Minolta managing director David Cooke will take part in the charity sky dive, joined by Steve Davis-Raiss, Eric Holtsmark and Craig Broadbent. The team is hoping to raise a minimum target of $10,000.

Konica Minolta Australia has a number of not for profit partners within four categories: social, environmental, health and humanitarian. Cooke says, “In the humanitarian category the charity partner we selected was Project Futures, we felt to make a contribution towards ending human trafficking and sex slavery was a very important cause for us to support. “I have personally been to Cambodia four times now to observe the work on the ground and have seen how effective fundraising in Australia can be over there. They rescue, rehabilitate and train young women to get them into the workforce.” Cooke says every dollar raised will be used towards rescuing women and children victims of human trafficking. The United Nations estimates there are still about 30 million slaves throughout the world today. Cooke adds, “It is still very prevalent unfortunately, our staff at Konica Minolta just wanted to make a bit of a difference that is why we got involved in this organisation.” Cooke is now collecting donations through the crowdfunding website chuffed.
