Kurz expands foil team

Foil and security print supplier Kurz has hired Adrian Barbero as technical specification manager, and Justin Alderton as sales manager, with both operating across New South Wales and Queensland.

Barbero has previous experience in packaging and design, having worked as the national key account manager and B2B sales person at Orora.

Stephen Pratt, managing director, Kurz Australia, says, “Adrian Barbero is perfectly suited to this newly created role as he has previously engaged with brand owners and designers, holds a degree in biotechnology and has vast experience in packaging, manufacturing and project management. His expertise in packaging and design will help all stakeholders arrive at the ideal solution to represent their brand.”

Justin Alderton will be responsible for sales of the Kurz hot and cold stamping foils across packaging, fashion and plastics. Kurz says the role will also involve educating and advising customers about the company’s Trustconcept solutions for brand protection, anti-counterfeiting, track and trace, and customer engagement.

Alderton has experience in business development and account management, having worked Pemara Label, Teckwah Value Chain and Columbia Pelikan.

Pratt says, “Justin Alderton is ideally placed to work with our loyal customers in New South Wales and Queensland to help meet the ever-changing requirements of their customers. The growth of our customers’ businesses, also leads to the growth of Kurz in these key sales states. In his role, Justin will influence and work directly with label convertors, trade stampers printers and some design houses and graphic designers.

“Both Adrian and Justin are great additions to Kurz Australia and we are delighted to have them join our team. I look forward to seeing them working closely with our customers, making positive contributions that help us continue to grow the Kurz business together.”

Kurz says both new hires will report to David Murphy, national sales manager for Leonhard Kurz Australia.

A spokesperson from the company says, “The technical specification manager role comes in direct response to increasing interest from designers and brand owners in Kurz solutions for foiling and embellishment. This involves informing and educating brand owners and designers about the very latest trends, techniques and best practices in packaging design to better meet their needs and ensure their brands stand out from the competition.”
