Entries to the 2014 Latma Label Awards close in just over two weeks, with a trip up for grabs to the World Label Awards in the US, where three Aussie companies won gold last year.
Latma awards co-chairman Andrew Maxwell encourages label companies to avoid a last-minute panic before the August 15 deadline and maximise their chances of winning and flying to Chicago next year by entering early.
“If you want your company, your employees and your customers represented not only on the national stage, but also the international stage, then you need to get your entries in today,” he says.
“Who knows, you could be the next person walking up to accept your company’s first gold or best in show award.”

Last year’s winners performed well at the international awards, with three joint best-in-class wins for Multi-Color Queensland, Collotype Labels Griffith and Ultra Labels Australia.
Honourable mentions also went to Wedderburn Labels in the flexo wines/spirits category, and to Labelworld WA in offset colour process.
Latma president Alan Dabscheck says: “We wish all of our entrants the best of luck, well knowing that luck in our industry is made by our members and will play little part in the Latma or World Label Awards, as only the highest standards of design and printing techniques will win gold.”
The competition aims to give converters an opportunity to showcase their finest work, receive recognition for their efforts, and be exposed to new converting methods and techniques.
