Entries for National Print Awards closes Friday

The 33rd National Print Awards are just around the corner, and those looking to have their inspiring print work recognised must enter by close of business this Friday. Any Australian based companies, individuals or associations involved in print production are encouraged to enter with the judging panel made up of selected experts within the graphic design and printing fields. Chairman of judges Luke Wooldridge says this year’s theme is ‘Inspired by Paper’ which will celebrate the role of paper in the print industry. Speaking to Australian Printer Wooldridge says, “Since its invention two thousand years ago, paper has launched a thousand ideas, inspired countless communications and transformed the world by putting the power of print into the hands of the people.”

“Today, what began on paper is continued on a vast array of substrates, to deliver some of the most creative, innovative and exciting print the world has ever seen. Frankly it is inspiring.” This year’s awards ceremony will be held on May 20 at the Plaza Ballroom, Regent Theatre in Melbourne, also providing an opportunity to connect with industry professionals from around the country. There will be 23 categories this year with the inclusion of new categories design and typography. NPA chair Susan Heaney is urging those who are inspired by printing to take action now and submit before it’s too late. As for what goes into a winning entry, Heaney offers this advice, “The formula for success at the National Print Awards is the same as in any other sphere – it’s a mixture of inspiration and perspiration. “And now it’s well and truly time for those who are inspired to enter this year’s awards to put their entries together and get them in.” Entries are due at the Sydney headquarters of Printing Industries in Chatswood by no later than close of business Friday January 29 to qualify.
