Label Power wins Apac award

Label trade printer and system supplier Label Power, is taking home the Special Recognition Award from the 11th HP Digital Print Excellence Awards 2018 Asia Pacific/Japan for HP Indigo Digital Press, with the company winning with its Artie's Spring Water label, in the non-alcoholic beverages category.

The piece was printed on Silver PP stock with a matte overlaminate.

James Malone, CEO, Label Power, says, “What stood out was the black and white photo, with interesting colour variances on it, especially with the finish. We have won other awards, though we don’t enter many.

“We have HP Indigo presses, Mark Andy presses, and MPS UV-flexo presses. We finish our labels  on our AVG Digicons.

“We do a lot of trade work in labels, and also have our foundation clients.”

Label Power has its own niche in the label printing game, in which it both completes print work for companies, and sells label systems.

Malone explains, “What we say is we print labels for you, or sell you the system to print your own. We don’t care which way you go, so long as we can help you out. Some want to print on demand, others want us to take care of it for them.

“What we sell ranges from desktop devices, black and white, to colour label printers, all the way up to industrial systems, die cutting, laminating, slitting, and laser die cutting systems.

“We are the industry leaders in VIP (Variable Information Printing) systems which enable clients to print variable information labels and tags on demand.”

Label Power was established in 1996 with head office and manufacturing facility located in Brisbane, Queensland. Label Power supply full colour industrial digital label printing and converting systems including the VIP Color VP600, VP700, VP750, Uninet Icolor 700 and the Scorpio and Digicut 330 finishing systems.

The company is also the distributor for labelling software Bartender, Labelview and Nice Label.

It has just under 40 staff, spread between sales and print manufacturing.
