Commenting on this year’s standard of graduates, Steve Kyd, chairman of the judging panel stated, “Once again the quality of the graduates was extremely high.” The seven finalists for this year’s award are:

- Brett Foran – Land & Property Information
- Murray Grant – Screen and Display
- Erica Mast – All Book Bindery
- Jarrod Morrison – Land & Property Information
- Philip Rosie – Graphitype
- David Whitmore – Fuji Xerox Australia
Rugby union legend Nick Farr-Jones will keynote this year’s ceremony, along with Scott Mohammad, the recent LIA/ Printing Industries Future Leaders Award recipient, will also be presenting on the night.
Organisers say Nick Farr-Jones has a proven record of success both on and off the sporting field and will address this year’s leading graduates with an address that is sure to motivate and inspire.
David Wells, president of the LIA NSW branch says, “This year’s Heidelberg – LIA Graduates Night will be special as we will not only share with today’s crop of future leaders from the New South Wales Printing industry, one of their important steps in their careers.
“We will also be addressed by Nick Far-Jones a leader and legend in Rugby who has had to make those hard yards, as an industry is being asked to do. As someone who led his nation in the last years of amateur rugby, Nick Farr-Jones is a natural leader.”
In a change from previous years awards, this year’s event will be held in the Grand Pittwater Function Centre at North Ryde from 6:30pm on May 29 and will include a three-course meal and beverages.
Wells continues, “This LIA function is an ideal opportunity for you to bring along your valued customers and showcase our printing industry youth whilst hearing a truly entertaining and inspirational speaker.”
