This year’s LIA-Heidelberg Graduate of the Year Awards will be held on May 17 at the Carnarvon Golf Club, Lidcombe, which is in the geographic centre of Sydney.

The LIA Awards night is one of the most important nights in the printing calendar, honouring those young people with outstanding performances in the industry.

This year’s candidates include Adrian Xuereb form Blue Star Group, Shane Ippvaz from Integrated Packaging, Dominic Holgate from Look Print, Jake Tomsett from Offset Alpine, and Laura Burgett from Spatial Services.

Guest speakers include Professor Paul Dastoor from Newcastle University, who has developed what he says is a practical and economic method for printing solar receptive ink on films, which he says will enable the capture of energy at low costs. Also speaking is Andrew Macaulay, CEO of Printing Industries.

Tickets are $99 which includes pre-dinner drinks, dinner with wine and other beverages. Dress code is semi-formal, pre-dinner drinks will be served at 6.30pm with dinner at 7.15pm. Address is 65-95 Notting Hill Road, Lidcombe.
