Marvel Bookbinding & Print Finishing will host LIA Victoria’s final technical event for 2024 at its production facility in Heidelberg West on Thursday 7 November.
The visit will feature a tour of the facility, which is Australia’s largest, privately-owned print finishing business, and a networking event with drinks and canapes.
LIA Victoria president, Robyn Frampton, said the business is one of the best known and most well-respected in the industry, and the tour will give attendees a chance to see a world-class facility and to learn from the experts.
“Marvel is Australia’s largest independently owned bookbinder and print finisher, and their production facility is truly first-class, offering a wide range of binding and folding services, glueing, perforation, drilling, embossing, shrink wrapping… and much more.
“When we talk about the future of print, we tend to focus on the various print engines and presses themselves, but technology is advancing every bit as rapidly in folding, binding and finishing, so this will be a fascinating opportunity to learn more about the trends in this vital part of the print production process.”
Owner Wayne Eastaugh, and general manager Richard Eastaugh will be hosting the event, leading tour groups alongside some of their key staff to give attendees access to the experts for all their questions.
The evening will also include the opportunity to network with other industry professionals over drinks and refreshments.
It is free of charge for LIA members, with a cover charge of $20/head for those who have not yet joined up. Thanks to expanded collaboration between LIA, Women in Print and FPLMA, members of those two organisations can register for $15.
