Lilyfield Group sold to German company

STI took control of Lilyfield on August 11, with no redundancies expected as a result of the sale. The printing company is also expected to be subjected to a name change.

Based in the suburb of Regents Park, Lilyfield was owned and operated by well-known industry figure Reg Hammond, with Hammond now planning to retire from the industry for good.

Hammond bought the company in 1979 as a bankrupt business, with the company going on to enjoy success with the purchase of Australia’s first Heidelberg 6-colour CD 102 printing press in 1994 and Sydney’s first Heidelberg 8-colour 4/4 perfecting press in 1996. Hammond himself received the Heidelberg Australia Award at the 2007 National Print Awards.

The Lilyfield Group is comprised of three specialist companies- The Creative Type, Lilyfield Printing and The Perfect Book Binding Company.
