
According to GMG, the new wide format solution calibrates and drives more than 750 wide-format printing devices and cutting systems, making identical repetition on different output devices a reality.
Commenting on the investment – which backs up millions in state-of-the-art machinery – John Duplock, managing director of Magnify says the with the company’s rapid growth in past years it has had lots of wide-format devices working as virtual “production Islands”.
Duplock says, “With GMG not only do we now have a unified production platform which greatly aids our efficiencies but we also can guarantee colour matching on every machine and substrate in the factory. That’s allows enormous flexibility which is critical to our success.”
The Melbourne install is the first of several launch customers around the globe in advance of GMG’s formal introduction of the product at this month’s FESPA in Barcelona, Spain.
Garry Muratore, GMG’s regional manager says, “We will be celebrating our entry into the wide-format sector with a highly innovative production solution for wide-format digital printing at FESPA.
“It will be the most complete solution in the market for indoor and outdoor advertising, sign and super-wide format printing, adding new capabilities in regard to colour consistency, flexibility and economy.”
GMG adds that its colour management expertise, well known in the proofing sector, is one of the three key pillars of this new GMG wide-format application.
Duplock continues, “Being able to directly drive our Aristo and Fotoba cutters automatically without the need to recreate cut files in other application lends itself to fantastic production efficiencies.
“The enormous GMG printer driver libraries means that any additional hardware we purchase in the future will integrate seamlessly into our exiting production network.”
