MGI launches new multi-function finishing unit

MGI says its new DF360 five-in-one multi-function paper finishing system laminates, cuts, slits, creases and perfs in one pass. Its in-line and automated standard functions include: duplex lamination with options for matte, satin or glossy finish, no lamination, or multiple finishes, for instance matte on one side satin on other; cutting horizontal and vertical; slitting; creasing; and perforation. It takes sheet widths up to 360 mm and lengths up to 740 mm and has application for book covers, brochures, tickets, business cards, photo books, invitations (with tear-off response card) and menus.

MGI’s award-winning JETvarnish digital inkjet spot UV coater’s new features include new left and right guides that allow for alignment to offset gripper marks on either side of the sheet; expanded sheet sizes up to 52 x 105 cm; and an option to add a second print line to be used with either a single ink colour VDP applications or a second varnish formula. Applications include book covers, posters, brochures, personalized direct mail, premium packaging, proofing/prototyping and corporate materials.
