NDI resurrected as Sydney CTP

Sydney-based National Direct Imaging (NDI), the first company to operate as a stand-alone CTP prepress house, has re-emerged as a new entity named Sydney CTP, after an eleventh hour purchase by the directors of prepress establishment Imagination Graphics. Purchase price was undisclosed.

The directors of Imagination Graphics had initially offered NDI director David Wells a position with their business after Wells was forced to reassess his CTP business after initial merger or acquisition deals with other establishments in the industry proved unworkable. This contact led to Imagination Graphics grasping the opportunity to re-establish a proven organisation and open up its potential to greater heights.

According to Imagination Graphics director Matt Pattinson, both companies serve two different sectors of the printing industry, with NDI (now Sydney CTP) producing commercial plates and Imagination Graphics developing high-end professional plates for posters and the like.

“The same directors own the two companies but will run them as two separate businesses,” says Pattinson.
“The synergy created by the two companies brings expertise in two markets and will result in a full product offering for Sydney’s customers,” adds Sydney CTP director David Wells.

According to Imagination Graphics account manager Emmanuel Buhagiar, the company purchased all of NDI’s equipment, client lists and staff to form the new company, which is expected to be run out of NDI’s existing premises at Gladesville.
