New High Speed Hot Foil Label Development

Already renowned throughout the industry here and overseas for their high-speed production, the press has been redesigned to make use of recent advances in electronic technology.
According to Bruce Mansell, Rapid Machinery managing director, this new generation of machinery is capable of printing in perfect register at 20,000 impressions per hour.

“This is over double the quoted speed of any other hot foil label press on the world market. The press was tested re-registering a pre-printed web with a draw of 200mm at over 10,000 per hour with exceptional register accuracy,” says Mansell.

Other new optional features are the ability of the press to back slit laminate in line on the press for the production of sign and seal labels.

Also offered is the company’s proprietary servo driven multidirectional foil feed with holographic image positioning and total foil control with both infeed and out feeds being positively indexed. This allows very accurate positioning of the holographic image and the versatility of running the foils in any direction, even cris-crossed for border printing, says Mansell.
