New leadership and scholarship opportunities from Women in Print

Women in Print has launched two major initiatives aimed at supporting women and non-binary professionals at all stages of their print careers.

The Executive Leadership Program will welcome its first intake in Melbourne in August, while applications are now open for the HP Indigo Digital Press Scholarship – Level 1 Certification.

Chair of Women in Print, Stephanie Gaddin, said the programs speaks to the organisation’s mission to elevate, connect, and support women in the print industry; whether they’re starting out on the production floor or stepping up into leadership roles at the highest levels.

“If we’re serious about equity in our industry, we need to be elevating from both ends,” Gaddin said.

“That means equipping our new operators, and apprentices with opporunties for certification and skills development, while also investing in our senior leaders so they’re not stepping into the top job without the tools to thrive. This is the work that shifts culture.”

Executive Leadership program kicks off in Melbourne

The Executive Leadership Program, which will be delivered in partnership with Jo Wise Leadership, will commence its first intake in Melbourne on 11 & 12 August.

The two-day, in-person experience has been designed exclusively for team leaders, middle managers and small business owners.

The program commences on Day One with a focus on self-awareness, values-based leadership and communications strategies for handling tough conversations. On Day Two, the group will look at team empowerment, driving change, and building resilience through practical, actionable leadership strategies.

The event will also include a private Leadership Dinner on 11 August, with each attendee and a ‘plus 1’ of their choice invited to meet with Women in Print Board Members and Ally Sponsors ; the perfect opportunity to forge and deepen professional connections with peers from across the country.

With a limit of just 20 delegates and delivered in an interactive style with hands-on exercises and real-world case studies, the program is designed to ensure participants walk away with a personalised plan that enables them to apply their new leadership skills to their professional and personal lives.

Jo Wise, executive coach and director of Jo Wise Leadership, says her leadership programs are for women who are ready to lead with purpose, presence and power.

“This is real-world, actionable leadership — designed to cut through the noise, grow influence, and help women lead with strength and clarity,” Wise said.

“We’ve created a space where women challenge outdated norms, back themselves fully, and lead in ways that are bold, grounded, and sustainable — for themselves and the businesses they drive forward.

Those interested in the program should register to attend an online Information Session at 1:00 – 1:30PM on Wednesday 25 June, to meet Wise, discuss training options with Gaddin and go through the program in more detail details, with the opportunity to ask any questions.

“Leadership isn’t just about titles; and it’s not about being “the expert”; it’s about impact, clarity, and courage,” Gaddin said.

“This program is one I wish I’d had access to earlier in my career, and I’m thrilled we can now offer it through Women in Print.”

Applications open for HP Indigo Digital Press Scholarship

Applications are also now open for the inaugural Women in Print HP Indigo Digital Press Scholarship, which is being offered in partnership with Currie Group and HP.

The Scholarship will provide up to six places for successful applicants to undergo training towards Level 1 HP Indigo 7X00 Series Operator Certification, with a September 2025 start date for the first training intake.

“These scholarships give new operators the kind of formal training that can set them up for long-term success in print manufacturing,” Gaddin said.

“It is ideal for women or non-binary individuals who are looking to broaden their skill set, put some formal instruction around their on-the-job expertise…or for any industry newcomers who aspire to grow their own career by upskilling on what is arguably the world’s number one digital press.”

Training will be delivered by HP Digital Press experts at Currie Group’s in-house training facility in Melbourne, and Gaddin said the association is especially focused on making sure regional applicants throw their hat in the ring.

“Geography shouldn’t be a barrier to opportunity,” Gaddin said.

Applications for the scholarship close Sunday 3 August at 10 PM AEST, and can be submitted at https://womeninprint.com.au/hp-indigo-certification-scholarship/
