Oce is hailing Jetstream
as a new colour standard, which is squarely aimed at the high volume direct
marketing/transactional market – so called transpromo, offering personalised
messages in full colour.
The launch of Jetstream
by Oce highlights the rapidly growing potential of transpromo, cited by some
analysts as the area of print with the biggest potential for growth in the next
few years.
Herbert Kielietner, marketing manager, Production
Print, Oce-Australia, says the
Océ JetStream offers direct marketing customers – including financial
institutions and insurance offices – a sustainable competitive advantage by
enabling them to produce highly targeted print documents for large customer
databases and mailing lists.
He says, "The system
integrates top quality color advertising on transactional documents at high
speed. Repeated studies indicate that consumers prefer to receive messages and
offers that speak to their individual needs and interests and that transactional
statements in colour lead to better recall and faster payment.
"The technological
innovation driving the Oce JetStream system produces higher quality images and
stunning color with less ink and no waste. The paper does not curl during
printing and the print heads are designed to minimise operator intervention for
cleaning and maintenance.
The launch of the Oce
JetStream system completes the expansion of the Oce continuous feed family,
which includes the Oce Colorstream
10000 – introduced in September 2007 – and the Oce VarioStream 9000,
8000 and 7000 printing systems.
Kielietner says that, based
on independent research, Oce is the market leader in the continuous feed sector
worldwide. He says, "The Oce JetStream system is expected to lead its category
in flexibility, quality and speed. The introduction of this innovative product
is fully in line with our stated intention over our first 130 years in
business: to distinguish ourselves in our markets by supplying products with
high added value for both our customers and ourselves."
The Oce JetStream will
be released with two models – the Oce JetStream 1100 single-engine and the Oce
JetStream 2200 Twin system. Both systems support ultra-heavy duty cycles and
reliable performance for the most gruelling production runs.
The Oce JetStream 1100
System delivers full process color at speeds up to 1026 A4 impressions per
minute. Exclusive to the Oce JetStream 1100 is duplex printing with a single
engine – without a loss in speed or performance.
According to Oce the
systems deliver top quality output with an industry-leading standard resolution
of 600 x 600 dpi. With a print width of 20.3" and paper width of 20.5" and
providing ultra high-speed the systems are targeted to direct mail and
transaction segments:
Service bureaus, graphic
arts operations, letter shops, offset printers and other commercial and
corporate printers can deliver full color variable data output with exceptional
and maximum productivity.
The Oce JetStream family
uses Oce DigiDot piezoelectric drop-on-demand inkjet technology that produces
very small, variable drop sizes
between 7 and 14 picoliters.
This results in higher quality images, smoother half-tones and stunning color
with less ink and no waste. The variable drop sizes let users change the
density range of any application to best suite the job and media.
