Bertl,
a premier source for independent product evaluation reports and comparative
analysis, only rarely grants a Beyond 5 Star Rating. In its analysis of the Océ
VP6250, Bertl called Océ Gemini Instant Technology "one of the most
groundbreaking technological advancements in the history of lectrophotography."
The
Océ VP6250 is based on Océ Gemini Instant Duplex technology, the only
technology in the industry to be able to print simultaneously on the back and
front of a page. The system prints 240 duplex A4 prints a minute, making it up
to 70% faster than other printers in its class.
The
award for the Océ VP6250 comes on the heels of a 2007 InterTech Technology
Award from the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical
Foundation. The PIA/GATF InterTech Technology Award honours excellence in
innovative technology for the graphic communications industry.
The
Océ VarioPrint 6250 was also named "Product of the Year 2007" by the European
Digital Press Association, as well as other prominent industry awards soon
after its release in late 2006.
