Asura Enterprise comprises client and server-based applications for Internet-enabled document delivery services. Its client module Asura Direct allows customers to print from creative applications such as QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign or even Microsoft Word, over the Internet directly into Asura Enterprise at the production site. This ensures that customers can access the Asura Enterprise system by one-click operation from their desktops to transfer content from native files any time, any place, and from any device. Hence Asura Enterprise enables print providers to develop streamlined, reliable, and secure workflows that begin at their customers’ desktops and extend across the Internet to the final output device.
Customers can send files via a secure Web site to the Asura Enterprise Server where they can check on file status at any time. All files will be automatically processed and optimized by OneVision’s Asura Pro – while maintaining complete control over file quality and integrity. Subsequently, customers may receive a softproof over the Internet. Outputting files as OneVision Sealed Documents supports reliable supplier-to-receiver workflow automation and traceability throughout the production process.
Deploying OneVision’s JDFnet technology, Asura Pro enables job ticket-based, networked production. JDF-enabled third-party tools, workflows, and MIS systems can be hooked up via OneVision’s JDFnet Adapter enabling interoperability between the various components within a workflow.
Asura Enterprise allows all decision makers in the publication process to have access to their own specific information, updated in real-time with the convenience of a web browser. Thus, Asura Enterprise brings designers, service bureaus, prepress professionals, publishers and printers closer into the ‘information loop’ enabling substantially increased production throughput.
