Ooh Media aims to double outdoor’s market share, expands NZ business

Peter Whitehead has been promoted from commercial sales director to national sales director, while former APN Outdoor national sales director Phil Eastwood has been appointed national commercial director of sales.

Chief executive Brendon Cook said the new talent, combined with Ooh's integration of Eye and recent additions to its product portfolio, would help the outdoor firm take market share from other mediums.

"We are confident that through our market leadership, coupled with our great team of sales professionals and our unique capability to connect advertisers with growing audiences while they are away from home, we will continue to drive the overall growth of the industry," said Cook.

"Our portfolio of high performing traditional out-of-home media, combined with the broadest array of digital environments and a cache of newly created technology engagement products, ensures we own world-leading out-of-home audience delivery and engagement solutions."

Meanwhile, Ooh has followed on from its acquisition of Eye's New Zealand assets by establishing an in-house production team in Auckland.

"The new capabilities have already delivered a number of new creative out-of-home campaigns that add extra elements to enhance interactivity by consumers," according to Ooh.

That included a promotion for television program Mitre 10 Dream Home in which paint and water appeared to spill from panels onto the shopping centre floor and a campaign for Monsters University in which panels were covered in bright pink fur.
