Paperlinx cuts Australian head Larry Jackson

It comes four months after a number of staff were cut from its Australian HQ and nine months after chief executive Tom Park was terminated following six years in the top job.

Jackson, executive general manager of Paperlinx ANZA, was appointed to the position in 2008, having also worked for the group in Canada and Asia.

The Australian operations will now report directly into Chris Creighton, president of Paperlinx North America.

A Paperlinx spokespersons told ProPrint: “We need to keep reviewing our structure to ensure it is appropriate for the business conditions. Larry has been involved in this decision and fully supports it.”

In February, Paperlinx underwent a global restructure, closing its European head office in Amsterdam and reducing the headcount at its site in the Melbourne suburb of Mt Waverly.

Paperlinx shares closed at a record low of 15c on the ASX overnight, down from the 12-month high of 66c it reached on 21 June 2010.
