Perth firm enters “offset territory” with WA-first iGen4 diamond edition

Graphic Source will bring offset work in-house after installing Western Australia’s first Fuji Xerox iGen4 diamond edition.

Director Peter Yeoman said the machine’s 364x660mm sheet size and matte dry ink capabilities would give the Perth firm a capacity that rival digital printers would struggle to match.

"We wanted to maintain our point of difference in the marketplace. We were the first in WA with a Xerox Color Press 1000, but there are about a dozen here now," he said.

"The iGen4 diamond edition can take us into offset territory. It’s a quicker machine too, which is another advantage, and will let us tackle a number of jobs that were previously done offset, which we’ll be able to bring back in-house."

The press can produce six-page A4 tri-fold brochures, and can print up to 12 postcards or 42 business cards per sheet. It can handle 40 sheets per minute, equivalent to 120 A4 pages per minute, according to Fuji Xerox.

The manufacturer also said it would create new business opportunities for Graphic Source.

"The Xerox iGen4 diamond edition offers Peter Yeoman the print quality he insists on, as well as the ability to tackle higher volume jobs, so they will be in a space of their own."

The press was installed in August.
