Andy Hannington, managing director of Spoce Digital says the installation of a third HP Latex Ink printer builds on the company’s success with the HP Latex Ink platform delivering a wider format that will enable Spice Digital Imaging to expand its solvent-free offer.
He says, “We stopped using solvent printers two years ago when we put in our first HP Designjet Latex Ink printer. When we decided we needed a wider format printer we didn’t hesitate to install the new Designjet L28500.”
Hannington, who ordered the printer through HP Channel Partner Artref, continues, “These printers tick all the boxes from an environmental perspective, are cost effective to operate and produce high quality results.
“We didn’t need to see the printer because we know how good the HP Latex Ink technology is. Our relationship with Artref also influenced our decision to purchase this printer because of the high level of service and support they provide.”
Located in Osborne Park, minutes from Perth’s CBD, Spice Digital Imaging opened for business in 2003, but Hannington has been involved in the large format printing industry since 1996.
The company predominantly services the retail sector working with interior designers and architects on shop fit outs. It also produces customised wallpapers, display systems, POS products and a large range of general signage for both indoor and outdoor applications.
The 2.64m super-wide HP Designjet L28500 with HP Latex Ink was released in November 2011. Hannington says this format fills the gap between the 1.6m HP Designjet L25500 printers and an older 2.1m flatbed machine, which has been decommissioned.
Hannington says, “At the moment we are printing a large volume of PVC banner material, but our intention is to also use the printer to expand our textiles range and to undertake many other projects that we can now do due to the wider format.”
