Since then May and Tom Eckersley, unofficial spokesperson for the Members Action Group (MAG), together with various supporters, have been in talks The talks have defused what had become a volatile situation, which saw multiple board resignations, irate members and questions over the PIAA’s strategy. The PIAA and the MAG held a meeting in place of the SGM, it is understood both groups wanted to reach a settlement before the SGM took place. May confirmed after the meeting that an agreement on the direction of the association had been reached. MAG spokesperson Tom Eckersley also stated there were ‘ongoing positive discussions happening’. Since its meeting with MAG, the PIAA has not sent out any further correspondence to members updating the situation. May has confirmed interim CEO Bill Healey will be sending out a statement shortly. The original call for an SGM came from the MAG which threated to call an SGM and vote no confidence in the Board if a list of demands were not met. The PIAA then called for the February 23 date itself.
