Australia currently runs a $2bn trade deficit in wood and paper products, Ms Robinson says, “Reducing this deficit by increasing Australia’s manufacturer of sustainable wood and paper products and weakening our dependence on imports – including those from dubious sources – requires a big effort in ensuring that the plantation estate continues to grow.”
