Polyester substrates for toner printers

Polyester substrates for dry toner printers are the latest addition to the KW Doggett digital range as the country’s biggest privately owned paper merchant targets new markets.

Doggett says ‘Tacky Dry’ is engineered for use on dry toner printers, being able to withstand high fusing temperatures, and will allow customers to print short run digital jobs on such machines.

It adds to the paper merchant's burgeoning digital-focused products that already include a range of substrates aimed at HP Indigo users.

Digital business development manager Jon Roberts says the new products address the demand for high quality print, short runs and variable data options.

“Increasingly our customers need shop signage, sale signs or window decals for short periods of time. Now they have the flexibility of using dry toner machines and Indigo presses to get their job produced quickly,” he says.

The range includes three self-adhesives – Crystal Cling, White Repositionable, White Super Permanent – and Super Tuff Poly, a double sided non-adhesive.

White Super Permanent is a decal solution for projects requiring a permanent fix, and is available in white only.

Crystal Cling is a non-adhesive cling used for interior and exterior applications. It is a true clear cling, suited to windows.

White Repositionable is an alternative to vinyl as it will not stretch when removed from the surface and continually keeps its shape. The face stock is a woven polyester fabric material. It is like a magnet yet can be used on painted walls, wood cabinets and glass.

Super Tuff Poly is a non-adhesive that is tough but soft. It has the positives of polyester and paper, is double sided and water and tear resistant.

It is durable and can handle print finishing processes. It also folds cleanly, which Doggett says is unusual compared to other digital synthetic sheets.

The substrates are durable, tear resistant and waterproof.
