Power of Print set for Qld and Vic

The second in the Neopost-backed Power of Print business intelligence seminars of the year has just taken place, with some 40 print professionals spending time on business growth strategies and opportunities.

Following the NSW event this week the Brisbane event will take place next Thursday July 19 at the Mecure, with the event for Melbourne print business owners and managers the Tuesday after, July 24, at the Pullman Hotel.

Neopost says the Power of Print Series 2 brings leading experts in print and print business together for a power session guaranteed to support business growth.

Karen Kavanagh, marketing director with Neopost Australia says, “The first session in Sydney was terrific, with printers attending saying they gained valuable knowledge in new opportunities and strategies.

“We had a combination of thought leadership presentation and hands on experiences, including a live application station where customers were invited to try and test the new range of wallpapers available.”

The wallpaper in question was used to demonstrate new opportunities in personalisation, with the Neopost-supplied Alstrom media able to be printed on the HP Latex and applied simply by spraying the wall, rather than the old dunk and coat style.

Printers came from the full spectrum of business, form the large commercial groups to franchises and sign shops.

Kavanagh says, “There is profit in print, and this was the focus, where is the margin. For instance with the personalised wallpaper, there are large margins and in an environment where house renovation is top of the agenda printers have the opportunity to generate new opportunity and increase the dollar value of printy.”

The event featured various stations, where printers could either get hands on like the wallpaper or with a foiling solution, or could look at a wide range of samples for instance on cushions and covers.

Kavanagh says, “Our intention this year is to bring more focus onto the business opportunity that exists in print and the opportunity for the print industry to grow revenues, increase efficiencies and explore the trends and growth areas that exist, to achieve business success.

Kellie Northwood, executive director from Two Sides, explores the future of print and share industry insights from her many conversations with print buyers, agencies, designers, marketeers and brands.

Matt Murray, general manager at Tharstern Australia, dives deep into how MIS can improve cash flow, increase revenue, improve workflows and ultimately make better business decisions.”

Jeremy Brew, HP, is exploring the endless options in print through HP Latex.

Peter Hine, Neopost’s resident colour management is offering free colour management training to those who want to improve the quality of their print. 

Kavanagh says, “Essentially Power of Print Series 2 is offering an a la carte menu of expertise that our printers can tap into to help grow revenue and win new business.”
