Pride In Print 2004 gets underway

The awards are attracting an increasing number of entries every year with 1000 entered this year. The ceremony attracted one of the largest crowd ever assembled in Christchurch for the presentation.

The two new categories, Export and Environmental awards, which were introduced this year were well supported and some categories showed significant growth with Flexographic entries up 100 per cent, Digital up 66 per cent and Packaging 20 per cent.

There will be some changes in the Digital, Packaging, Sheetfed and Flexible categories in the 2004 awards to satisfy judging requirements to enable Gold winning work from the New Zealand Awards to be entered into overseas competitions.

Awards manager, Sue Archibald suggests that companies wanting to enter work store quality samples throughout the year in a safe area where they can be re-examined before sending them in.

“If management works with the production team on this system the company as a whole takes ownership of the job and success is truly a team effort,” she says.

All entries have to come from work completed between January 1 and December 31, 2003. Entries close on January 31, 2004.
