A staff profit sharing scheme and deep community involvement has won Kwik Kopy Bondi Junction a regional business ethics award.
The franchise print shop won the Excellence in Business Ethics Award for the south-east region of Sydney in the NSW Business Chamber Awards.
The award recognises a company that has been able to achieve success while acting in an ethically responsible way. It was also a finalist for Excellence in Small Business.
It comes after the franchise was given an award for the highest business growth of any big-sized franchise at the Kwik Kopy Franchise of the Year Awards in April, growing it sales to more than $1.2m.

Owner Emmanuel Constantinou says the profit sharing scheme makes the employees hungry for higher quality work with speed and efficiency, and means they ‘approach and treat the business like their own’.
“We are committed to empowering our staff to make decisions for our business guided by our ethical business values. We want their skills and experience to improve and evolve, and we respect their input at all times,” he says.
“We work hard to produce the highest quality results for our customers and also take our social responsibility within our local community very seriously. This win validates my belief in approaching challenges together and recognising hard work.”
Kwik Kopy Australia Managing Director David Bell says since Constantinou took over the franchise two years ago it has quickly gained a reputation as a business committed to its local community and one that is keen to be involved.
“I suggest all the business owners should look at Kwik Kopy Bondi Junction and get tips from it. The owner knows how important is it to get involved in the community and build on those relationships,” he says.
“He is doing everything we recommend business owners should do.”
Constantinou serves as treasurer of the Bondi & Districts Chamber of Commerce and his business was a finalist for Waverley Council’s Brightest & Best Business Awards for the two years.
“We have passion for the print industry. That is what sets up apart from our competitors,” he says.
“A lot of people get into business but lack that passion that drives and motivates them. I am very involved in the business community as well.”
Bondi Junction will now represent the South Eastern Sydney region at the 2015 NSW Business Chamber State Business Awards later this year.
The region includes the Eastern Beaches, CBD, Inner West, St George and Sutherland Shire and employs 40 per cent of Sydney’s workforce.
