Printers celebrate their craft at Real Media Awards

Printers from a range of specialty areas came together at last Friday’s Real Media Awards to share their success with their clients in Melbourne.

The 30th Real Media Awards were held on Friday October 28 in the Sovereign Room at the MCEC with categories including letterbox marketing, publishing, direct mail, point of sale, print marketing, excellence in craft and more.

“The Real Media Awards is an example of the industry coming together, brands, agencies, retailers, printers, publishers, and distributors celebrating the work they create in partnership with their customers to drive efficacy across the impressive and results-driven media channels we represent – namely print media channels. The Real Media Awards are a testament to this success and a great reflection of our Collective philosophy,” said Kellie Northwood, Chief Executive Officer, Print & Visual Communication Association.

IVE dominated in the direct mail, print, catalogue and publishing categories, being winners and finalists in 44 categories for printing, and 39 for distribution.

Commercial printers also staked their claim to craftsmanship with Rawson Print & Packaging Company, Conversify, MCC Labels, Hero Print, Genii, Adams Print, Print & Sign Co, SEED Print Group, Blueprint Australia, Quality Print, Spectrum Print, and Southern Impact all recognized for their excellence in quality, craft and execution.

Steve Maidens, Chief Sales Officer, IVE, said it was an honour to receive such a wide variety of recognition and success from their printing and distribution jobs over the past two years.

“Thank you to everyone from IVE for their hard work, to all of our clients, and to the Real Media Awards team for putting this event together and celebrating our industry,” Maidens said.

Northwood congratulated all the winners.

“My absolute congratulations to every printer who participated in the awards this year and to those who enjoyed Finalist and Winner success, with the competition across over 300 entries it is indeed an achievement to reach the top 5, let alone take home the win. Well done to you all,” Northwood said.

The Real Media Awards is committed to an ‘all in’ industry approach with the room filled with over 350 guests including major Retailers, Agencies, Printers, Publishers and Distributors all celebrating the event together.

“In the same way printers need retail, brand and agency clients to achieve what we do, retailers, brands and agencies also need the expertise and talent of their print and mail-house partners to bring their campaigning to life. Together we achieve great outcomes and impressive results – print is a powerful channel and the Awards celebrate this as well as the future of our industry,” concluded Northwood.

The Awards were judged by 58 judges across Melbourne and Sydney including Printers, Suppliers, Retailers, Brands and Agency personnel. More than 350 attendees celebrated the event of more than 300 entries, running for its thirtieth consecutive year.
