Printers join GASAA to argue online’s impact on print

Former ProPrint editor Steve Crowe will lead the first debate, titled ‘Taking the Print to Online’, with GASAA executive officer Garry Knespal.

Crowe and Knespal will be joined by Circle Communications principal Ross Campbell, Rawson Graphics director Nathan Kable, Fuji Xerox production print systems manager Simon Lane and Impress Printers director Guy Marco.

Knespal said this is the first of an initial series of three seminars looking at the key issues affecting the Australian print industry today.

Subsequent seminars titled ‘Can you still make money from print?’ and ‘Being more than just a good printer’, will be held on 11 August and 8 September at Lidcombe and Arncliffe, respectively.

“We want to get some strong audience participation,” added Knespal.

Rawson Graphics director Nathan Kable said the impact of online on print is “a big issue for the print industry and important to address”.

He told ProPrint that “it’s a matter of looking at what’s happening overseas”.

The first debate will be held at North Ryde Golf Club on 22 June and will be followed by drinks and nibbles, and networking time.
