Printers roll up sleeves for homeless BBQ

More than 30 volunteers donated their time last night to feed Sydney’s most vulnerable at the Lamson Group and Certe Group’s annual Feast of St Vincent de Paul.

Run by Vinnies’ Sydney Night Patrol, volunteers donated food, drinks and toiletries for a BBQ held in Martin Place to give more than 100 local people a night of fun and socialising.

Lamson Paragon Group of Companies general manager, Rodney Frost says he was humbled to see so many people turn out to volunteer their time.

“Last night was our best yet with each homeless person receiving multiple gifts and more importantly some quality conversation to ease the loneliness and even get a smile,” he says.

“It was good to see so many volunteers having great conversations. To be honest I even shed a tear on the way home.”

It is estimated that on any given night approximately 105,000 people will be homeless across Australia.
