Printers have until Sunday to participate in a PIAA online survey – which runs for four minutes – to tell it what members expect to pay for the association’s services. David Leach, president of the PIAA, says input of printers will help complete the ‘shape of our future service offerings and membership fee structure’ – which is why it is important that the association have members’ feedback. Click here to access the survey. Printers have already been responding in numbers, with preliminary results from phase one research showing the top three priorities to date are training, business management consulting and access to research and best practice information.
Leach says, “Our survey ends on March 29 – so please take a few minutes to give us your opinions – and if you have already contributed to our preliminary results – thank you.” The final phase of the survey features multi-layered questions centred around fee expectation and services packaging options. The priorities highlighted so far bears out the success of the PIAA’s Future:Print programme, which has focused on the twin areas of apprenticeships and business consultancy, backed by an $11m government grant. Print business numbers at Future Print have exceeded the timeline, as the offer of free business consulting in particular has been warmly welcomed by print businesses around the country. Leach says, “Our initial feedback tells us that one-size-fits-all model is not relevant in such a diverse and evolving industry as ours. The needs of our members are no different to those of our member customers – they are varied and constantly changing as their own circumstances and markets change. “We are now launched the all-important phase two data capture using award winning Choice Business Intelligence, a scientific modelling technology in conjunction with data experts Managility.”
