PrintEx board’s $70k to promote print gets applause from ‘Paper – part of every day’ team

The PrintEx11 board announced late last week that it would be “substantially increasing its investment in the event” with the support of event hosts GAMAA and Printing Industries. This investment will be used to fund a promotional campaign at the event unofficially titled ‘Power in Print’.

Spokesperson for the ‘Paper’ campaign, Bernard Cassell, described the announcement as “a fantastic pre-Christmas present”.

“Everyone in the industry should be excited by PrintEx11 building on the industry campaign’s momentum from the last year or so,” he said.

“PrintEx11 will provide a great opportunity to link our messages: paper is sustainable and print is powerful. We have to tell our story well and over and over again in every forum we can find. That is the ultimate path to success in our efforts to promote our industry.”

PrintEx11 organisers say the ‘Power’ campaign is intended to help unite the industry at the event and provide a single voice to promote print to media buyers.

PrintEx11 chairman Mitch Mulligan (pictured) said: “For years now we’ve been saying that we need to unite as an industry to counter misinformation and promote print. Yet to this point, while individual bodies have done excellent work with promotion and resources, very little has been done to present that united message.

“PrintEx11, which draws together the vast majority of key players in the industry, provides us with the best opportunity in the foreseeable future to do just that, and the board, supported by GAMAA and Printing Industries, believes this industry promotion is so important that we have set aside additional budget and resources to make it happen.”

PrintEx11 will be held from 4-6 May at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour.
