Joe Kowalewski, Forum Series coordinator, says Sampson will discuss creativity and innovation in business. He says, “We are delighted to have secured Todd to address this important issue at the Thursday Forum. With his sharp insight and engaging style, this forum is sure to provide plenty of food for thought for a wide range of delegates from those involved in the advertising and creative industries, through to print service providers themselves.”
Sampson’s forum session titled Creativity and Innovation – the Destiny Makers, based on his real life experience, will explore innovative ideas, cultural change and problem solving, bringing together true stories from his personal resume, including the creation of the environmental movement Earth Hour, working as chief executive officer of a leading company and climbing Mount Everest unguided.
Sampson calls creativity one of the last remaining competitive advantages companies have today. He says his presentation will celebrate the power of creativity in solving any problem, whether big, small, social, political, economic or environmental. He says, “It works from the premise that creativity has the power to change the world, but fear has the power to stop that from happening. The most successful leaders and organisations of the future will be the ones that can successfully balance both. Print, which has been the core tool of communications for centuries, is built on creativity – yet with digital and environmental developments now reshaping this, the industry has found itself challenged by that very same thing.”
Aside from his mountain climbing success, Sampson boasts some serious achievements in his chosen line of work. His advertising awards include the Titanium Lion at Cannes and B&T’s Creative Campaign of the Year in Australia in 2008. Financial review ranked him as the most influential advertising executive in Australia.
Organisers say that PrintEx11 delegates gain free attendance at this Forum, and other sessions in the series. Their web site www.printex.net.au offers more information.
