Printing Industries pushes for change

Printing Industries New Zealand has been working hard in recent times to explain the new Holidays Act to members, and is currently working with the government on problems with the Employment Law Reform Bill.

CEO of Printing Industries, Joan Grace, is urging members to write to Swain, asking him to put the Bill aside until it can be debated with the business community. With his ‘business-friendly’ reputation, Swain is seen as possibly more receptive to this debate than previous Labour Ministers.

The Employment Law Reform Bill has raised concern among Printing Industries members, according to chief executive Joan Grace. Printing Industries have been touring the country with a seminar series on the Holidays Act, and explaining the major proposals.

Printing Industries’ submission to Government has “pointed out the difficulties for businesses with the Bill and asked that the changes do not go ahead unless our members can be assured they will not adversely affect their operations,” Grace says.
