Printing leads skilled vacancies fall

DEWR says the biggest falls in vacancies in the month were for printing trades (down 6.4 per cent), medical/science technical officers (down five per cent) and building/engineering associates (down three per cent).

The biggest rises were for wood trades (up 5.6 per cent), construction trades (up 4.9 per cent) and accountants and auditors (up 4.1 per cent).

However, DEWR says that over the year, trade vacancies climbed 18.2 per cent and associate professionals rose 4.2 per cent, compared to a fall of 10 per cent for professionals.
