ProPrint to show power of print with live production of news at trade show

The ProPrint team will decamp to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre to produce the 16pp daily newspaper, filled with all the latest product launches, sales and announcements from the show.

It will truly show the power of digital print, with high-quality printed pages packed with news produced live overnight for the next day's show crowds.

All editorial will be written by the team of editor Steven Kiernan, news editor Nick Bendel and features writer Peter Kohn.

The team is completed by creative director Sam Grimmer, art director Andrew Bennett, sales manager Carmen Ciappara and marketing manager Louisa Rekasi.

Each day, the team will go to press on the following day's edition then send the print-ready files to the Ricoh stand.

This marks a continuation of the partnership at PrintEx11, where each day's Daily was produced on the Ricoh Pro C901 stationed on the supplier's stand.

This year Ricoh will go one step further by splitting each day's run across a Pro C901 and a Pro C751, to show the colour-matching capabilities of these two production digital presses.

The stock for the PacPrint Daily has been proudly supplied by BJ Ball, which is using the trade show to demonstrate its wide range of digital substrates, which come under the newly launched ICON brand.

The PacPrint Daily will be available for visitors to pick up at all main entrances to the convention centre.
