Q&A: Kelly Bourke, SOS Print & Media Group

The SOS Print & Media Group sales manager has been with the Sydney firm since 2002. Bourke is an accomplished ballerina who loves music but hates to find empty toilet rolls on the holder. If she wasn’t in print she would be an event organiser – or a secret agent.

What would be your dream job?

A secret agent 

Which superpower would you like?

Invisibility 

What makes you laugh?

Other people laughing! I love an infectious laughing scene 

What was your childhood obsession?

Dancing. I learnt ballet for 16 years 

Which piece of print are you most proud of?

The Pizza Hut hot dot – we have it in numerous countries around the world 

What’s one of the biggest stuff-ups you’ve made in your career?

I ordered 20,000 pieces of red-cast coated stock cut for business cards only to find we couldn’t print on it and never would! 

What do you like most about being in print?

 Down-to-earth people 

What do you dislike most about being in print?

 So many people in the process – it just takes one human error to ruin a huge effort by many people 

Reveal a secret talent?

 I can sing, dance and play piano and guitar 

If your house was on fire, what three things would you rescue?

My iPad, digital camera and BMW. Better take the hard drive as well – it has my whole life on it 

What makes your blood boil?

Empty toilet rolls left on the holder 

How do you like to unwind?

I go to Bali on a regular basis
