Registrations are now open for the 2019 AIP National Technical Forum to be held in Sydney in April coinciding with a Women in Packaging breakfast forum which is open to all and the Australasian Packaging and Innovation Design Awards gala dinner.
The Australian Institute of Packaging says three significant educational events will be held at the Sofitel Wentworth in Sydney on April 30 with the option to attend all or just one of the events.
Around 20 speakers will address the audience in the National Technical Forum, including representatives from Nestle, TetraPak, McCormick, SPC, Campbell Arnott’s, Lion, Delicious Food Australia and Arthritis Australia, to discuss the latest in packaging technologies and opportunities for the future.
“The action-packed and informative educational events are a fantastic opportunity to network with a wide range of like-minded packaging professionals and learn along the way,” AIP executive director Nerida Kelton said.
The National Technical Forum is the main event of the day and runs every two years and has now operated for over two decades.
It brings together packaging technologists, designers, sales and marketing professionals from all industries to better understand the technical side of packaging design.
Registrations for PIDA awards closed last Friday.

“The 2019 AIP National Technical Forum will showcase best-practice and award-winning Save Food and Sustainable Packaging Designs, innovative on-pack communications and packaging across food, beverage, pharmaceutical and domestic household,” Kelton said.
Other events for the day include a women in packaging breakfast forum which Kelton says is open to all. The breakfast will hear a keynote address from Nikki Moeschinger, managing director of BrandOpus. A discussion panel will follow featuring inspirational and inspiring women in the packaging industry.
A gala dinner will round out the day for the 2019 Australasian Packaging Innovation and Design Awards which recognise companies and individuals who are making a significant difference in their field and the exclusive entry point for Australia and New Zealand for the WorldStar Packaging Awards.
The PIDA awards are coordinated by the AIP and Packaging New Zealand.
