ASGA has advised its NSW Sign & Print Golf Day, which was planned for 3 April, has been postponed to 17 July.
The association said the announcement follows an update to ongoing renovations to some of the areas of the Ryde-Parramatta Golf Club in Sydney, which it had booked to use.
“We have been unable to obtain guarantees from the venue that those areas would be available and suitable for use by 3 April. We are not prepared to compromise on the quality of one of our most popular events and so, have taken the difficult decision to postpone it until the second half of the year,” ASGA said.
“We look forward to seeing you at the Ryde-Parramatta Golf Course later in the year for this fantastic industry event.”
For those who have already booked for the Golf Day, ASGA will be in touch shortly to arrange for a refund or to carry the booking over to the new date.
Registrations are open for the popular event. This year, the format will be similar to previous events, with teams teeing off early for a full 18 holes of golf, played in the Ambrose style. This is where team members take turns to hit the ball, with each member starting from where the last ball landed.
ASGA member and events manager Damian Nielsen said the format prioritises team enjoyment, no matter what the individual players’ skill levels, opening the field to golfing pros and novices.
“This is without a doubt one of Australia’s most beautiful courses, so the opportunity to play there is a treat in itself,” he said.
“Add in the chance to win a host of prizes from nearest the pin to the hotly contested Survival Ball, and of course the opportunity to catch up with industry friends and colleagues, and it’s a great day out.”
The day will conclude with dinner and drinks at the Club dining room.
“We all know that good business is built on good relationships, and that’s really what these events are about – making new connections and strengthening existing relationships,” Nielsen added.
“The day is a great chance to do just that, so I would encourage anyone who is looking to build their network – or just to have a great day out with industry peers – to register yourself, or get a team together with your colleagues or clients, to make the most of the opportunity.”
This year’s event is supported by Principal Sponsor Graphic Art Mart, Drinks Cart Sponsor Signarama, and prize and novelty hole sponsors SMIB, Ball & Doggett, BounceLED, Lettertech, ORAFOL and Spicers.
“There are still some great sponsorships available for companies who are prepared to get behind this event while enjoying an effective and affordable way to promote their business to industry professionals,” Nielsen said.
