Roland to demonstrate new printer flexibility at Ipex

On show will be the VersaUV LEC-330, a UV-cured printer and cutter that includes white ink, and matt and gloss varnish for producing textured and 3D effects.

When combined with third-party proofing RIPs from the likes of GMG and CGS, it has potential as a proofer for packaging with the ability to print, cut, and crease coated and uncoated substrates of up to 1.3mm thick.

The manufacturer will also show two wide-format inkjet printers capable of reproducing metallic effects: the VersaCamm VS-640 and the XC-540MT.

The VS-640 was launched worldwide in February, with Sign-A-Rama Miranda upgrading to the press just last month.

The XC-540MT was launched locally in October 2009, with Sydney-based Oxford Printing one of the first local companies to deploy the press.
