Rooster IMC adds finishing trio

Rooster IMC has installed three new pieces of finishing kit to cut costs and improve efficiency with improved automation.

The Melbourne printer, part of Naresh Gulati’s OCA Group, last week installed the Duplo 646 cutter, Multigraph folder and creaser, and Duplo VD 300 diecutter.

Gulati says the new equipment has done a few jobs with noticeable time and cost savings, such as cutting the man hours for an eight-page gatefold from seven to one, and eliminating two processes with the Duplo 646.

“These machines will bring significant efficiencies to the business, so there will be less handling and moving stock around,” he says.

“Finishing is a high cost area so you need to reduce costs there through automation.”

Gulati says the new kit also allows Rooster IMC to enter new markets like personalised packaging and time perforation.

He says the company is working with reseller Neopost, which supplied the three machines, on automating other processes in the business, such as JDF workflow.
