SA and NT PICA entries jump a record 20 per cent

Peter Mansfield, general manager South Australian/Northern Territory Printing Industries says the number of entries this year reached 450, an increase of 20 per cent over the 2010 total and eclipsing the previous record set in 2003.

He says, “We had a flood of entries in the final week including many companies who had previously not entered or who had not entered for some years. It’s quite apparent that many more businesses are seeing the value of entering the state PICAs and this is being reflected by the increased numbers.

“With trading conditions being difficult or uncertain, there is a greater appreciation of the marketing value a PICA win at any level can bring to businesses as a point of differentiation.”

Meanwhile entries for the Victorian PICA close next Friday August 26, followed by NSW closing on September 2, Queensland September 9 and the ACT Page Awards on November 4.

Western Australia will hold its PICA presentation dinner on Saturday August 27.
