Screen shows high-volume inkjet at fair

A highlight of Screen’s stand has been its TruePress Jet 520, a long-distance runner with rollfed clout that delivers the variable-data, direct mail, newspaper and transactional markets, according to Scott (pictured).

The Jet 520 is also an ideal proposition for book printers, able to generate 1,000 completely printed and finished books in three hours, he said.

The region’s first Jet 520 was installed last year at NZ’s Astra Print, which bought the colour machine to boost its book, direct mail and catalogue offering.

The press, which can print 25,000 duplex copies an hour, needs to produce more than one million copies a month to be a justifiable investment, advised Scott.
